I'm less worried about firing them out of this particular P-38 since even though it's an alloy frame, it has the steel hex bolt as well as a larger slide. I don't really like shooting hot ammo through my P-38, but I was thinking that maybe I was imagining it, since it was sold for so cheap, I figured it was low powered plinking ammo. The brass looks fine, maybe very very slightly on the thinner side, but it honestly looks just fine. I'm shooting at 25 yards to 50 yards, at the AGC pistol range, and sometimes on the barnes range. Has anyone chronoed this brand? Anyone else had favorable experiences with these rounds? 45? Are they traditionally loaded hotter too? Number one, is it the same with other rounds like. I know that some European 9mm is loaded much hotter than we load our 9mm. When I cleaned the USP and the P-38, they were barely in need of service, the Brass Maxx was very clean burning. 223 of this brand, and it was very accurate, but I can not guage it's cleanliness since I fired several other kinds of ammo at the same trip. 45 performed just as well, down to it seeming a bit hotter than regular plinking ammo. It will cycle, because the USP will cycle anything, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it, and often the rounds will be keyholing when they reach the target. I don't know if it's the copper washed mild steel jacket not conforming well to the polygonal profile, or what, but it just does not usually shoot well from this gun. To give a foreword, my USP's polygonal rifling is not a fan of steel cased Tulammo. So I decide to try some of the Brass Maxx. This is incredible, since usually Tulammo is incredibly sooty and leaves behind a distinctive smell and cloud. Not only was this ammo consistent, but seems to be loaded quite hot for plinking ammo, and is much much cleaner than Remington or WWB, though not quite as clean as Federal. I was surprised since with the steel cased 9mm Tulammo, I can barely hit the paper, and I get a lot of fliers. So I chalk it up to bad loading, and continue shooting. Much snappier than usual for 9mm through this gun in a 115 grain bullet weight. I fire the P-38 a couple of times, and I notice it seems to be a little bit snappy. So I went out and shot my P-38 the other day.Īnd since I didn't want to cut too much into my reserve of Federal, I brought some of the Brass maxx, as well as some of the same in. I liked the price, so decided to try some out. So, I noticed this stuff showing up to walmart in fits and spurts.
